Simple Spring Decor Wine Bottle / Vase

From North of the Boulevard~

Turning a wine bottle into a decor item can be done in a number of ways, but one of the easiest is using nothing more than a little spray paint, some ribbon and some pretty flowers. Before  you toss that empty wine bottle, think about how easy it would be to turn it into a vase. This project was done in very little time, cost very little and adds some spring time color to my decor.

Easter Tablescape~Mixing Vintage Treasures With DIY Decor

Easter Tablescape~Across the Blvd~Vintage & DIY Decor

From North of the Boulevard~

Is your table dressed for Easter? I love the light and pastel colors of spring and I like for my dining table to reflect that.  Using a combination of depression glass, milk glass, some china I've had for at least twenty years and adding in a few DIY pieces, I gave my usually gold and brown table setting a spring time make over.

Grapevine Easter Wreath

Grapevine Easter Wreath

From North of the Boulevard~

Now that we're only a few weeks away from Easter, it's time to spruce up my front door with a new wreath. I wanted it to be colorful for spring with a little bit of Easter added to it. I gave the burlap and denim wreath to Gloria, so my door was looking a little bare.  I've seen lots of lovely grapevine wreaths lately, so I decided I'd make one for Easter. Using some silk flowers and some burlap, I think this one offers a nice welcome.

Easter Egg Bouquet and Tablescape

Easter Egg Bouquet Across the Blvd

From North of the Boulevard~

I wanted to add lots of color to my breakfast nook this spring. It's usually decked out in palm tree tableware and coastal decor, but I wanted to change it up to be a fun spot that says "Happy Easter!" To make it colorful, I put together an Easter Egg Bouquet and used some bright, colorful tableware.

Easter Vignette With Burlap & Lace Bunny

Easter Vignette with Burlap and Lace Bunny

From North of the Boulevard~

My foyer table is a spot in my  house that I love changing out seasonally. This year, I wanted to use pink and white decor to match my dining room  Easter tablescape. I loved that to put the look together, I managed to shop my own house to find lots of pieces that would work for this. The one thing I was missing was a focal point or centerpiece. After spotting some lace covered burlap recently, I knew it would make a fun Easter bunny that would be great for this.

Faux Sugar Eggs

Faux Sugar Eggs

From North of the Boulevard~

Last year after Easter, I bought several bags of plastic eggs that were on sale for 75% off. I got my Easter decorations out a few days ago and have been looking at these bags of eggs wondering how I wanted to use some of them. I thought about spray painting and I've seen lots of beautifully painted speckled eggs. I decided to go a little different route with mine.

Spring Basket With Rolled Fabric

Spring Basket With Rolled Fabric

From North of the Boulevard~

This little project happened after I bought four cute baskets from the thrift store for $1.00. I brought them home, not knowing what I was going to do with them other than spray painting each of them in some bright spring time colors. After cleaning and painting them, they definitely looked much better, but they were still a little plain.

Spring Wreath Using Burlap & Denim

Spring Wreath Using Burlap and Denim

I've been reworking some of my old wreaths and when I came across this burlap squares wreath, I thought it would be perfect to use for the March Craft Challenge that challenges crafters to make something using an old pair of jeans. The rosettes and the the little bird are made from old, worn out jeans.

Irish Blessing Wall Hanging

Irish Blessing Wall Hanging

From North of the Boulevard~

It's time to turn our attention to St. Patrick's Day! If ever there was a holiday that comes around with a roar, it's this one! What started off as a religious feast has been transformed into a day for celebrating all things Irish-or even things not so Irish-like green beer! It's a fun day for many and a day that can be enjoyed by anyone-Irish or not.

I'm on a flower making kick lately! After making some spring spoon flowers, I wanted to add some other flowers to my spring time decor. I wanted something soft and pretty and making silk flowers fit that bill perfectly. Like all of my DIY crafts, these are easy to make! Following the method of using a candle, these flowers turn out so pretty.

Spoon Flowers for the Spring

Plastic Spoon Flowers

From North of the Boulevard~

Using plastic spoons for crafts is nothing new, but it's something that I hadn't done, so I thought I'd give it a try. Making flowers seemed like a good  first time spoon craft for me. They are easy to put together and I've got several ideas in mind for using them in my spring time decor.

Silky Flowers

DIY Silk Flowers

From North of the Boulevard~

For Gloria's wedding, we used silky flowers as part of the tablescape decor. After tons of trials and errors using various online tutorials, I decided to take bits and pieces from a few of them and try my luck with my own version.

Coastal Wreath

Coastal Wreath Deco Mesh

From North of the Boulevard~

I've seen deco mesh wreaths every where and not long ago I had one of those moments when I said, "I could make that!" The prices on these beauties usually begin around fifty dollars and go up from there. I’ve seen them for as much as ninety-five dollars on Etsy! I was sure I could make one for less than twenty dollars and I’m happy to say I was right about that.
