Thrift Store Find ~ Makeover Using DIY Chalk Paint

After trying DIY chalk paint for the first time and loving how easily it is to work with, I was ready to take on a project that was a little bit larger than the stenciled piece. But, I wasn't ready to use it on any furniture pieces I already own, so I made a trip to the local Goodwill Store. There was not a lot to choose from that day, but for $5.00 I found this piece that seemed like it could be a great test piece.

One Good Thing Week Twelve

Welcome to week number twelve in our One Good Thing Series. Each Friday, we will be choosing one good thing from the week prior to highlight.  While lots of good things can be found throughout the week, this is a place to spotlight one in particular. It might be something as simple as a great meal we had or a blog post that inspired us. It could be something awesome that that happened in our lives or in the world around us. Peach Cobbler~ A Southern Classic Made Easy

Peach Cobbler is one of my all time favorite desserts. If I don't choose a chocolate treat, then chances are I'll choose peach cobbler.  It's sweet and gooey and served warm right out of the oven, it's hard to beat for a classic southern comfort food.

Side Table With Chalk Paint Pattern

From North of the Boulevard~

I am bringing up the rear on the chalk painted furniture train! I admire so many wonderful chalk paint pieces of furniture, but I've been  reluctant to try the techniques I've seen used. I decided to start small-really small-and add a chalk paint stenciled pattern to an old side table. One day, I'm going to take the plunge and paint an entire piece of furniture with chalk paint. Today, though, wasn't that day.
